Which one of the many different ways I've heard that I'm supposed to go about accepting this Christ are you asking why I supposedly refused?

Christians can't even get their story straight on what it means to be a Christian.

Actually, Luke and Mark, if they wrote the Gospels attributed to them, weren't even ones of the twelve disciples.

$ On TV he is always broke but the preachers are very rich. For cash and my own 700 club show I'll reconsider.

2. Christians debate no matter what others believe. Many condemn people who don't accept their beliefs. Every Church has a different slant on the Bible.
Also people ask these questions to get a rise to judge others. You are judging me now and you are only at answer 2.

3. I can't lie well enough to myself about any mythological or superstitious
ideology or convince anyone else I do. I don't even have a lucky number. the Bible is all about control, power, hate, spite and revenge. I can't worship a god that has less love for mankind than I do.

4. God does not exist in a real world, but in the imagination or dellusions of the human mind of some..

I could go on but you would run out of RAM.

1) I don't trust a bunch of illiterate nomadic goatherders (who so obviously peacemealed their religion from others) when it comes to the nature of the universe and humanity.

2) I don't trust the literate power-hungry theocrats who transcribed these myths from oral traditions.

3) Science.

4) I don't recall Jesus ever being described as smiling or laughing.

Seems like a rather tough job.

I did searches for metaphorical interpretations of "Song of Solomon" and "Song of Songs" (search engines make fundamentalists look like big believers in allegory), and I found several sites that describe such interpretations:

Christ and his Church
God and his community of worshippers
God and some individual worshipper

Also, the length of the book and the details involved make me suspect that its purpose is romance rather than religion, prurience rather than prayer. Why not the metaphor of a child's love for its father? That seems far more respectful to god, IMO, than this Hebrew Kama Sutra.
I agree -- and it would be more consistent with the rest of the theology, in which God is like a parent and his worshippers like children. A love affair may also be a bit on the egalitarian side.

And in answer to the original question:

1. The accounts of him have too many discrepancies and errors
2. He could have been a myth
3. Morally, he is far from perfect (killing that fig tree, etc.)

What's God's excuse for this mess on Earth?

Why does he talk to Bush and not me? I want to know if he knows where the WMDs are? He tells him who to bomb so why so shy about the reasons.

Where does God live and what is his email address?

There is no equivalent because there is no crime against humanity severe enough. Sin however is so severe a crime against God, that permanent separation from Him is the only option.

Unfortunate!"

Unfortunate and, I finally realized, completely bogus.
So you think it would make sense and be realistic if a human could just earn their way to perfection?
