So to bring the cows home from your yoke with Christ in post 6:
Quote:

Quote:
Take away from you the heavy yoke, and take up the easy one. Take My yoke, for it is gentle and light
I find that new reading quite cool, it seems to be of a higher literary quality - almost lyrical. But most important of all the question arises - what is the 'yoke' he is talking about? The answer I am certain is that for Clement at least it had some mystical significance, and certainly it was connected with the related words συζυγία (= union) and συζύγιος (= to be joined, united) with Christ (or in this case perhaps 'chrestos' a word which already shows up in the text interestingly).
. . . don't let Matthew bullshit you to take away the heavy yoke and replace it with the easy one, no matter how charming it may sound.

Then also be careful for the mystical significance, wich usually is the devils handyman or quacksalver (your therapeutae):
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/quacksalver

Plato goes searching for destiny from insight to insight (from ousia to ousia) each with glow of their own to arrive at his own genus as the naked animal man.

Notice here that 'shines' (or glows he called them) where the antagonist in this final stand (shepherds-on-the-run) that yielded 'parousia' to combine his own left and right wherein he was yoked as both man and human (TOK and TOK).

I think in the Gospels we give "all we are and all we have' to find the reign of God, ( . . . and thus not a Jesus as a lighter yoke).

Well, you could just defeat the argument.

A good beginning here is that Plato's 'genus' is our naked animal man. Then if you consider that the noise on a children's playgound is the same all over the world, it is easy enough to see that Matthew's proposition is lie and a dirty trick to put it there.

So the question now becomes: who put it there and why?

That already shows that the game is 'beyond' us when we play, and they do not really care how high you jump and why, because the game is theirs and the key to the kingdom has their name on it. I.e. Rome is home and Rome is home for those who want to remain, that now means that eternal life belongs to them, and hence the water must be with their name on it.

In Buddhism practioners are equated with river merchants who are free to do as they please, with guidance available to them, no doubt, but when everything is said and done, the river they are on is theirs, and so Nirvana will be home for them, and in this end they will be all the same again, while each will have his own story to tell.

M In his Octavius, Marcus Minucius Felix, responding to the pagan jibe that Christians worship wooden crosses – an indication of how the cross symbol was already associated with Christians – denies the charge and then retorts that the cross shape (a crossbeam placed on an upright) is honoured even by pagans in the form of their standards and trophies and is in any case found in nature: "Crosses, moreover, we neither worship nor wish for. You, indeed, who consecrate gods of wood, adore wooden crosses perhaps as parts of your gods. For your very standards,[69] as well as your banners; and flags of your camp, what else are they but crosses gilded and adorned? Your victorious trophies not only imitate the appearance of a simple cross, but also that of a man affixed to it. We assuredly see the sign of a cross, naturally, in the ship when it is carried along with swelling sails, when it glides forward with expanded oars; and when the military yoke is lifted up, it is the sign of a cross; and when a man adores God with a pure mind, with hands outstretched. Thus the sign of the cross either is sustained by a natural reason, or your own religion is formed with respect to it." [Marcus Minucius Felix, Octavius 29]

What is much worse is that in America, or not just America, per se, but post-Reformation Freedom of Religion became a Constitutional Rigth all over in Christendom, where so now sophists are robbing purses from all directions with a promise of better days ahead, and the more you give the more you will be rewarded later, 10 times even, with virgins to booth to sway the innocent youth . . . while the reality is that they are buying a ticket to hell, and will get there First Class if you pay enough and on you way you are.

Better yet, nobody is to blame except themselves as the Church has tried to stamp out fornicators ever since it was called to order, and we actually have Saints who past the Inquisitor Test, and truly Saints they are to pass that test. Now I am not into Saints myself, but understand that if you run a place you have to keep it clean, and really, a people ranch is all it is . . . if then the mythology is for the survival and prosperity of the tribe.

Notice please that it took them no time at all to write the Syllabus of Errors to cut violators out so they could never be blamed for sending Catholics to hell. This may all be semantics, but it is philosophical and needs to be.
