I've been trying to find this one site I saw listed on here. It seemed objective and it had a lot of interesting information.

There was another one that was pretty objective and had a page about the authors of the new testament, and when they were written, and I think it mentioned whether any of them ever met Christ in-person.

So for the hundreth time, can anyone give me some links to objective sites on the bible?

The NT Gateway is fabulous. Today I was just reading FF Bruce's apologetic defense of the historicity of the NT writings, which is online with a link there. Lots of great stuff.

space chief, there are no objective sites on the bible, but there are lots of interesting ones. Watchoo gotta learn is to discern that magic ingredient called evidence. You can extract it outta any source if it's there all-by-your-self. However, ytou mightn't find any evidence in many sites. I recently pointed people to an interesting review essay on biblical archaeology, which in itself had absolutely no evidence at all. One would have to go to the sources the particular writer was using to look for the sources of the evidence. So go boldly forth, with your trusty well-tuned chronium-plated gamma-shielded "crap detector" (quoted phrase courtesy of Neil Postman), exploring the far reaches of the intellectual universe and remember the magic phrase "it's dead, Jim". Use it, often. Whenever you find any of those precious grains of evidence, treasure them. Each is more valuable than a thousand opinions.

Hi,

You'll have to decide for yourself if these meet your requirements, but I've found these two sites pretty good.

This one is by an anthropologist in Utah:

It appears to be a work in progress since some of the pages have no content, while others have a lot of content. Some of the pages are really good.

This one is by an amateur and sponsored by the American Schools of Oriental Research:

He quotes from several books, in bold, which may be distracting sometimes, but the thing I find useful is his bibliography and the references cited in each of his articles. He also links to several useful sites and has many photos of statues, inscriptions, pictures, and drawings.

Edit: It seems I misread the last page. Bible origins is not sponsored by ASOR, but the page he was linking to is.
