For whatever it's worth, that guy is just a regular Orthodox Jew, not a Messianic Jew. Messianic Jews are Christians. This guy doesn't think Jesus was the Messiah, just a lovely rabbi.

It's true that Israel does depend a great deal on support from evangelicals who think the temple has to rebuilt for Jesus to come back. They still think the Jews are going to go to Hell, though, so their "support" for Israel is utterly cynical, self-serving and condescending, but then again, the Israelis are happy to let them think whatever they want as long as the dollars keep pouring in. It's probably better business for Israel not to have a Temple.

There's also a thriving tourist industry based on fleecing Christians by showing them totally made up sites for made up events.
