Just finished reading this by Zimmer. Of course it wasn't until I was about halfway through that I realized it was 10 years old.
Does anyone know of a good follow up to this book with more current info on the evolution of fish to tetropods or from mammals to whales? I did notice Tiktaalik was not brought up, which is what prompted me to check out the copyright date (a little late obviously). Anyway, are there any more recent books on the subject? Thanks, Marc P.S. - Great book by the way. That is of course if you "believe" in all of this evolution stuff :devil3: |

Great - thanks. I also stumbled upon Don Prothero's "Evolution - What the Fossils Say and Why It Matters" - seems like it is chock full of goodies.

Jennifer Clack has a book called "Gaining Ground" on the subject too. Amazon says its 2002. I have seen it in my library but it was too heavy for me but it might be ok if you know more about fossils already. I will try to get the Karl Zimmer book, that seems more like it for me! |
