Do you have any links or info as to what it was all about? All I can find is this thread from 16-Dec-2007, stating that he has been re-instated as a mod.

Maybe he had a revelation and is now a christian... and he's taking some time to formulate his strategy to try and witness to and convince the rest of us heathens to accept Jesus as savior.

These words sound just like a hopeful christian masquerading in the land of the unbeliever.

There is a community of infidel where one supports another -- despite any conflicts of opinion that might have people at each other's throats --, and the above comment is certainly not supportive of that community.

Are you sure it was him? I know a lot of telco operators who automatically delete voice mail messages if they were waiting in the vmbox for some period of time, because experience shows that if you don't replay the message for a few days, chances are you never will.

Not sure what you mean here. My comments were mostly tongue-in-cheek.

But are you saying that scenario is impossible?

Of course it's impossible for Peter to be Christian! Once someone has seen how utterly intelligent and faultless is the reason behind unbelief, they can never ever go back. You don't believe in atheism, you just know it. Intelligent people just know things. They don't have to believe in anything because they know everything. I think I got that right.

Come on back, Peter. People will love you whether you're atheist, pantheist, panentheist, or religious nut (they all are you know...).

Can someone clarify--does no one on this forum know even enough basic information about Peter Kirby to find out if he is ok? No one knows his hometown, his college, his friends or family?

We know a lot about him, including his phone number, and I think if something really drastic had happened, we would know.
