Default Outer space christians

A while ago, someone posted a question, that went something like this:

Quote:
If we encounter an alien species, that firmly believes in the christian God (sort of), wouldn't that be a strong evidence for Him?
Today I have given that that some thought, and noticed if there were outer space christians, some central xian dogma needs to be dropped: Trinity.

If the aliens are to be saved, God must have become one them, died, resurrected, you know the story. That makes God, Jesus, the alien Jesus, Holy Spirit - Quatinity.

Silly? Biblic proof for the non-existence of aliens? A reason to put more money into SETI? A posting to be moved to Jokes?

No, seriously, what effect would an alien religion have on us, if we'd encounter one?

Does it matter? Let's assume some christian style religion for a start, makes things easier.

If an alien civilization had the exact same Christian religion, then I would certainly wonder how they got it. How they got it would be the key question. Did it come about long before they had space travel? Had they visited Earth previously and were contaminated by christianity in their past?

Is there a 3rd alien civilization out there that is spreading christianity be visiting early civilizations?

There could be a large number of reasons for multiple civilizations to have christainity in completely natural ways.

And of course, christianity has changed over time. One would want to look not only at the end product but at the early stages.

The question is whether aliens are in the image of God, and whether their first parents fell into sin. I think most Christians would say only humans are included in those two criteria for the plan of salvation.

Well, If it said that all Tralfammadorians can be saved, then it might be considered tribal, where if it was that all creatures could be then it would be universalist.

Also depends on who holds the power on Earth. It the rich corporate moughals adopt the religion to get better trading with the aliens, I would suppose within a few generations most of humanity might adopt it. (Or so it happened with Christianity and Islam.) (correct me if I am wrong)

And most aliens would probably claim that their religion only allows them to be saved, and Earth Christians are some evil deception by satan to pull them off the path to salvation, or some other nonsense.

Let the interplanetary holy wars begin!

When the Christians first came to Mexico they found that the natives had a religion very similar to Christianity. So they killed everyone.
