I'm guessing something like "the Flood was a cataclysmic event, there was a lot of rain and mudslides, some critters made trails in the mud between mudslides". Then we can move on to their explanations of sun-dried cracked mudflats in the middle of the torrential rain, and so forth.
I don't think all the sediments were laid down by the flood. That would be a basic answer to those problems.

Why is it not an area of interest for you? You say that you are a YEC in your profile. What the OP has offered is pretty solid evidence that YEC is invalid as an explanation. This should be something that you would want to tackle and defeat in the name of the truth of YEC!

But you defer to "someone?"

Can you expand on this?

You don't have areas of interest in darwinism? Some areas you know more about than others? Don't try and bait me. I don't know the answers. Why is that good enough for darwinists when I pose a question but not for creationists? This area is not an interest to me at the moment. I would hardly be representative of the current thought so I defer.

If you have no interest in sedimentology as it relates to YEC then why did you post to this thread?

No one is trying to "bait" you. The OP invited YEC types to answer... It is therefore a good assumption that if you, a YEC, post to this thread then you have a desire to contribute in a meaningful way.

Am I wrong in that assumption?

You didn't answer any of my questions. I posted because he made a statement that I thought was wrong. That no YEC could answer him. Nothing more nothing less. You notice how I answered your questions.

Then I can take it that you know of no young earth creationist "expert on sedimentology" that can answer the OP? Not that there are none, just that you have no knowledge of any?

I take it that you are unable to answer my questions so I will from now on ignore all of yours. Have a good day.

Your questions to me were irrelevent...

Yes, you simply reiterated your lack of interest. Look, it's fine with me if you have no interest in dispelling a strong argument for evolution against YEC, but to assert that a mysterious "someone" can answer those questions only looks like a cop-out.

Okay... Okay! I relent.
I now will answer your formidable questions.

1) I am extremely interested in all of the sciences, especially those that deal directly evolutionary issues. So I try to keep myself informed about all relevant discoveries and theories.

When I was a YEC I would have been vexed by this sedimentary evidence and I would have immediately sought out some kind of answer.

2) Certainly there are many areas that I know more about than others. But if I were still a YEC the ones that threatened my faith the most would have been the ones that I had the most interest in.

3) Not sure what you are asking here......
