For one, I don't debate religion outside of these forums. It's just not something I do in person.

For another, there is sooooooooo much to argue about in Christianity in particular, or religion in general, that one could happily argue for years without ever getting to the MJ/HJ debate. I've been here 6 years, and only rarely piped up in these threads, though I do read them.

I think you place altogether too much weight on any given individual's "respectability" as a historian. You need to let go of those credentials and think for yourself! That's the glory of being an atheist - we make up our own minds, not adhere to anyone's say-so.
