Well, Shesh. My hunch would be that as I have suggested in the case of the epistles that the link between the prophetic statements and the creeds was not part of the theology at all. Just like we don't find in the epistles a single Tanakh reference to the verses in Isaiah and Malachi concerning either Elijah or the Davidic Messiah, which adds to my conviction that the original letters did not involve messianic teachings, we don't find certain links in the creeds either.
