I am a very happily married man, but that sounds perfect. :devil3:

Humans take advantage of the "illness role" which is a benefit to being sick. This actually requires a social permission. I have seen physicians complain about how bad they felt to a receptionist hoping that the receptionist would tell them it was OK to go home. (I thought at the time it was too funny (and obvious) that the physician didn't ask a nurse).

PS: I hope you feel better soon. If you don't- go see your MD.

Thanks. R-I-C-E did the trick. I'm not above whining about pain, but I've only a few times said "No" when someone asked if I was alright. The very first time in my life was when I fell & broke my tailbone after being struck by a bicycle messenger.

I remember when I flipped my bike and broke my collar bone, and somebody asked me if I was okay, I responded "Yeah, I think so", not realizing that my shoulder was six inches down the side of my body. Shock is a hell of a thing.

It might also have some pack survival advantage: non-life threatening injuries that attracted all the attention of the pack would decrease its awareness of external threats. Anybody know if chimps do the same thing?

In other words they fake alot of the emotions and the condition they really are in.
On the other hand, faking an injury should result in a mandatory caution by the referee.
