I've mentioned that I have commissioned a translation of this work into English, and this is going ahead; so far 4 questions from Greek and 1 fragment from Syriac have been done. (The work was written in the form of an FAQ). I still intend to publish this, so I can get at least some of the money back, before putting it online. A major academic publisher is sniffing around the project, which is also interesting.

I thought people interested might like to know that question 4 has just been translated, and it turns out to be a verbatim quotation from Julius Africanus! The subject is again problems with the genealogies of Jesus.

The nice thing about Eusebius' works is his quotations from lost writers, but I had not expected any in this work. So a bit of a bonus for us all.

Eusebius did try to tackle the discrepancies of the genealogies in Church History, using the all 17 sections of chapter 7 of book 1. And Eusebius did claim the information used was from "Africanus"

An excerpt of "Church History"1.7.4

So that both these accounts are strictly true and come down to Joseph with considerable intricacy, indeed, yet quite accurately.
