So, I'm recently reminded of a little thing that proselytizers (and others) will do to try to control the conversation. They'll take anything you say, and go on a tangent towards what they want you to talk about.
For some examples of what I'm talking about, take a look at these: Every answer ends with a question, which is often unrelated. Read the first paragraph I need to practice my conversational skills, and I think I'm going to start playing the keep-away game, where whenever they try to talk about Jesus, I'll do everything I can to change the subject. |

That first site says, "Just as nature abhors a vacuum, so God abhors sin." What? Unless you're a pantheist, which is not a Christian belief, "Nature abhors a vacuum" is figurative, an instance of personalizing the universe. They mean it literally when they say "God abhors sin." And there's no other connection, either, except that they both use the verb "abhor."
Makes no sense. |

You just have to love this stuff.
![]() From the christian answers net article; "While atheism is the ultimate intellectual suicide, I can understand why some people are tempted to believe that there's no God." "He must be all-powerful. Nothing is impossible for Him. He therefore could have easily prevented unspeakable agony by simply lifting His finger off the earthquake button. But He didn't." "God is love, but He's also just and holy and if He gave us what we deserve, the tsunami of His holiness would sweep us all into Hell." |
