No. It doesn't assume it, or take it as self-evident, in the slightest. Nor does it assume it because it is first assumed he did exist. I already said why that was not accurate, and that I had given my reasoning for taking the position on timing elsewhere (yes, it's a 'position', Dog-on, no need to wet your pants), but apparently you don't actually read others replies to you. You do grasp the difference between 'assumed as self evident' and 'view held, for reasons given', don't you? No. Apparently you don't.

Oh, and thanks for reminding me of another popular and irrational canard. The 'you don't have evidence' canard. Yes, the people saying this do have evidence. We are not all in the same boat. Lol.
Hold whatever position you like. It doesn't change the fact that your response begged the question.

MM,

Thankyou,
You're welcome.

but I really wasn't intending to compare and contrast, at this point (interesting though it might be).
It is not just interesting. Comparison and contrast of the evidence is critical to the entire professional business of doing history, which btw I am presuming you are indulging in, and not something else such as theology.

Sloncha!

No, Dog-on. It can't even be question begging, unless it's an assumption, which it isn't. You need to spend much more time on basic definitions.

Oh yes. It's just I don't have the free time at this moment, this afternoon, to go into that one.

Perhaps, though, again, it does not change the fact that your response begged the question.

If you mean, the timing of Jsus' existence depends on whether he existed in the first place, then thankyou Dog-on. I would have gone astray on that one were it not for your guidance. Let me know when anyone has the answer. :]

I suppose we can wait together.

However, I am pleased to see that you finally get it, so you can now deposit 5 bucks in the cup... thanks.

Archibald, I wouldn't worry too much. Some people just need to get a hobby.
