I understand what you mean, but I think you fail to take into account that Jesus and Yahweh are really the same dude. Perhaps in his Jesus persona, Jesus would not have approved of the Phelps clan, but in his genocidal Yahweh persona he would be smiting left and right exactly in line with the Phelps clan.

None of them. The Bible conflicts with itself in countless places. Interpretation is required.

But of the major denominations who most like to claim they have not interpreted the Bible, Southern Baptists seem to be the most anal about it.

Probably the Mormons, in my personal opinion. Or many of the religions that the Christian orthodoxy labels as cults.

The Mormons missed the bit in Revelation that says not to add anything more to the scriptures. They lose.

No, the author was heaping curses on anyone who added or took anything away from his book. Even in his time he was well aware of pious fraud. :devil1:

ETA: If your interpretation is correct, then Christianity is in real trouble since most of the NT was added to the scriptures after Revelations was written.

But isn't the OP queston only in regard to the bible?

That's because they don't believe that the Bible was infallibly canonized in the first place. They rather believe that the Bible was corrupted through human tampering. I would say that they're pretty right on there.

Further, the Revelation reference itself doesn't refer to adding additional scriptures to the Bible, insofar as the New Testament was not yet even fully assembled at the time of it's writing. That's simply a common misinterpretation of the text commonly circulated among the Christians. I rather suggest that the Revelation reference solely refers to adding or subtracting from the book of Revelation itself. And the Mormons have not tampered with the book of Revelation.

Since the bible (of which there are many versions past and present) is a collection of fictious stories that only the most gullible could swallow, the question is moot. Do people debate which issue of Superman comics is the most authentic and the readers the most faithful to the ideas? Religion, mysticism and especially Christianity should be exposed and rejected for what it is, a bizarre, amoral fantasy fit only for the consumption of those who disvalue reason.

Judaism.

Not a joke - I think they are the closest.
