Personally, I don't believe the Gospel Jesus was historical. I'm not interested in arguing for the existence of a Gospel Jesus. I am interested in whether people in Roman times believed that their gods were historical or not, which I thought you were commenting on. Sorry, I think I misunderstood your point.
