That is what he looks like. He does have this problem of looking much younger than he is.

As for his publishing record, he has two books on the historical Jesus that will be coming out, and will be publishing his PhD thesis.

You know, if he took his understanding of Greek/Roman philosophy and showed how it may have influenced early Christian development, then he would have been redeemed in my sight.

But what if "Early Christian development" is a Eusebian phenomenom? Carrier has already redeemed himself as an ancient historian and NOT a "biblical historian" by denouncing the authority of Eusebius, who wrote all that there is to know about the subject in the 4th century. If Eusebius is either a liar of hopelessly credulous, where does that leave "early Christian development"? What do you think "early christian development" is, such that Carrier or anyone else, should demonstrate its historical verifiable quantities and qualities?

He has chosen a difficult path. Academia is always fraught when confronted with a tendentious career scape. Not so many job prospects for outspoken atheists methinks. Ancient history of the ANE, in biblical times, with a scientific bent ...
