I am with you on the annoyed by that thread. Talk about divisive, General Theology is very divisive.

Who knows what either of them mean (I clearly understood what K meant).

As for CJ...he's nothing more than a blowhard these days.

Which I hate to see. He's pretty smart and has a few interesting ideas, but there seems to be a decided lack of curiosity about him.

Plus he got absolutely the worst Catholic catechesis ever. The Franks who got baptized en masse in the Rhine were taught better than him.

MOAR AZN, MOAR MOAR!

And for all of you gun lovers, guess how he killed himself?

I am sorry if that is out of line... I am so upset... excuse me.

I was just thinking how ironic it was that some of us found the whole gun posting thing creepy on CF & then this tragedy.

I did not know him but I am extremely saddened.

I had a good friend make a gun and kill himself because his dad was abusing him.

No need to apologize.

My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Yes. In my younger days, when I was in my twenties, 3 of my friends comitted suicide. It's a horrible thing to deal with. Especially NOW, all these many years later, just knowing they made a permanent decision about a temporary problem, it sucks big time.

My last year of high school three of my friends did it. The summer after two more did. Since then, three more friends I graduated high school with did. I'm sick of it. It goes beyond breaking my heart.

Nothing else to say really.
No matter how hard you try, sometimes it is the only way out someone can see or want to take. Sometimes the pain is just so intense and the obstacles seem so huge, it is the only thing to do, even if that feeling only lasts just a few minutes and would have gone if a method wasn't sitting there and then.
So many people who use the OD route in all seriousness, feel 24 hours later they are so glad it didn't work. Suicide is often a moment of unbearable pain combined with a fast lethal method and nothing anyone, friend, colleague, worker, family, could have done to stop it.
But the guilt that is left is also almost unbearable...

I married friend of mine had an affair with a young girl then hung himself when he got caught. I hiked the west coast trail by myself after that.
