Yes, I have already told MCalavera that. But MCalavera is very enthusiastic about his arguments right now, so it hasn't had a chance to sink in.
I made the effort to address your post point by point revealing how many ad hoc you had to make. So no, it's not simply a matter of me being too enthusiastic to let it sink in. Without evidence, you arguments are just wrong.

No it doesn't. Nazarene is a sect. You would be better served to be asking the question of why Jesus was said to be a Nazarene.

The translations are good. Nazarene means from Nazareth.

Thank you for confirming my point.

Now let's see your answer to my question for once. Or are you going to just keep dodging?:notworthy:
'Nuh uh' is not really addressing the response, other than to show that you have not studied the issue.

Take some time and investigate the specifics regarding the two words that I mentioned above.

So in other words, you implicitly admit it's just speculations, nothing more.

As expected from the mythicists

Hi MCalavera,

Flame on bro. You and AA are mirror images.

Nope, no evidence of Jesus being of the Nazarene sect in Mark.

It's Jesus of Nazareth of Galilee. Period.

Still waiting for the mythicist explanation for Jesus being from Nazareth.

So if not Mark who made it up, why did Matthew and Luke do so ... and why do so when they went out of their way to associate the Messiah with Bethlehem anyway?

MCalavera:

There is a search function for this forum. Look for Nazareth in thread titles, and you will find:

http://www.freeratio.org/showthread....light=nazareth

Read through that monstronsity, and pay attention to the posts from spin, who will tell you that he is not a mythicist.

Then get back to us.

Take care.

There are about a dozen folks who consistently posted meaty, well thought-out posts, over the past several years. Spin is one of them. He has investigated and thought out every position he takes, so is not shooting from the hip like many here do.

He also has little patience with those who so shoot. He hasn't been very active here recently, directing his satirical wit towards even crazier crazies than we have here, on other rationalist/sceptic forums, having already vanquished in his own beady mind those crazies who reside here.
