			1) The so-called prophecies are taken out of context, and really are not prophecies at all. 2) Not every story about Jesus is true. |

If one reads the ancient church fathers or the Dead Sea scrolls, one will begin to understand that the ancients looked for "deeper meanings" or sometimes "allegorical meanings" in the writings that were known in the Torah as "The Prophets" (ha Neviim). The "surface meaning" or "context" (as you put it) were not necessarily of interest to them. This was a common practice in ancient times, not just among Christians but Jews and "Gentiles" as well.

			1) A great many of the stories in the OT weren't prophecies about the Messiah, such as the "suffering servant" in Isaiah (which is Israel, not the Messiah). 2) The writers of the gospels made up stories to make it appear that their character was fulfilling prophecies. The story in Matthew of Jesus riding on two animals at once, "an ass and the foal of an ass", is the smoking gun. It is utterly clear from this that the writer was misunderstanding an OT "prophecy", and making up a story to fit it. |

why would they waste their time making stuff up that could get them executed.....it dont make sense, they had to have some good reason for believing it to use their time and survival or preach and write it

Saying who is right or wrong? About what? I don't think Jesus fulfilled any specific prophecies, if that's what you're asking. Other than being born of a young woman, that is. |

NT authors invented/concocted their writings so that they would be in sync with the HS, therefore validating, so they thought, what they were saying. . | |

Regardless, there is no good reason to think any so-called prophecy in the Jewish Scriptures was miraculously fulfilled. Only faith can support such a conclusion. Quote:
