What? Witherington accepts the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin? If so, Bob Price was right, Witherington does write "insufferable nonsense".

Bob Price is a very astute.

Welcome, Matthew. I caught your intro in the Lounge. You might want to peruse these old threads for a laugh.

Witherington believes God uses antiquities to bring humanity closer to Biblical truth (Witherington-Shanks Book Tour 2003)

From the link therein:

Quote:

"I think that the further we get away from the time of Jesus, the more evidence God produces," said Witherington.

"This ossuary brings to light the evidence to support what the New Testament says."
Still defending the ossuary [Witherington is pathetic]

Toto,

Thanks for the welcome! I hope you liked my introduction. Bob Price is one of my favorite scholars and authors. I am still reading his bookThe Incredible Shrinking Son of Man. Great book! I am very much captivated by his thesis that the 1st Corinthians creed contains apocryphal interpolations. If his thesis is right, then evangelical and fundamentalists don't really have much of a leg to stand on in arguing for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I think such a DNA test would be an excellent idea. What do you think would his conclusions be, however, if there was no correlation whatsoever?

Ah, that's "ankerberg" with a silent "w" is it? Why is it these guys always look so insufferably smug on their websites?

Well, that someone produces, at least...
