Default National Bible Week Nov 20-27

How shall we celebrate?

Many Become Atheists after Reading the Bible

The Pasadena Public Library is hosting a display of the History of the King James Bible sponsored by the First Church of Christ Scientist, which is giving a Presbyterian friend of mine conniptions, because, after all, Christian Scientists are a cult.

The National Bible Association appears to have a theocratic purpose - to push the Bible on the US Military. Perhaps this belongs in CSS.

Perhaps it should start by examination and meditation on the historical appearance of international inter-cult conniptions? The Prebyterians are just an historically older cult, like the Mormons etc etc etc. Christianity itself was an even older historical cult. No matter how much new paint is applied to its exterior it is an historical cult. Historically it seems to have gone into conniptions against the Gnostics. The celebration might therefore conclude by a thorough reading of the non canonical Gnostic texts. Dont they all get bored reading the same book over and over again?
