Maybe that in addition to some editorial work/literary expansion on the Pauline corpus?

The historical chains of custodianship were wrought
in the fourth century by Eusebius in the forges of
the christian emperor Constantine -- very lavishly.

These chains have never been lifted off the landscape
of BC&H to examine the record of their impressions in
the period you are interested in (ie: Ireneus).

Very pavlovian.
