Default Dead Sea Scrolls

I tried doing a search for them on this board, but alas, I can really only look for Dead and Scroll which brings me a lot of other things (since "sea" is 3 letters).

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody here has seen http://www.ibiblio.org/expo/deadsea....bit/intro.html this page about the Dead Sea Scrolls. It looks like an interesting read, I'm doing that right now.

This is the old exhibit site, which has a number of perhaps erroneous presuppositions.

It works on the assumption that there was a religious community at Qumran, which has never been established and, according to an eminent Israeli archaeologist Yizhar Hirschfeld, the site is similar to a number of other establishments of the era in Judea which was centred on economic functions.

As I have argued, and hopefully will argue again here soon, the Essenes almost certainly have nothing to do with this production centre, would have been incapable of financing the construction of the Qumran aqueduct, and could not have had the scrolls produced.
