Okay, this conversation seems to be dropping off the existential edge of the world.

aa587 and Solitary Man are two sides of the same stubborn coin.

Unless you are a Christian and committed to Jesus the only reasonable answer to the question of did Jesus exist or not is "I don't know".

Anything else is just chest pounding by two gorillas who always have to be right.

I have always stated that I have no beliefs regarding Jesus. None. I have no beliefs at all. That's part of being a nihilist. That doesn't mean that I can say, "It seems to me that the evidence points to Jesus having existed" nor does it mean that I am forbidden from pointing out the flawed logic in others.

But go on misinterpreting. Perhaps you outta lay off whatever drug you're killing yourself with and pay attention to what I've actually written before you think yourself a worthy judge for condemning me.

Some people are immune to logic.

This is just sophistry / wordplay, playing on the ambiguity of words.

What remains is: "believing Jesus did not exist is more substantive, as a position it involves more commitment, than having absolutely no opinion on whether he existed." which is obviously true, no matter what sleight of hand wordgames you want to play.

In other words, you are saying that you know for a fact the chance whether Jesus existed or not is exactly 50-50, and whatever tips the balance in one direction or other must be irrational.

To which I say - and I want to be polite here : pile of horseshit !

I was wondering why you didn't insult me, but now I see you have edited your post to do just that.

That's not what I said at all. Perhaps you are taking the drugs Solitary Man just accused me of taking.

I do happen to think the balance is tipped towards no Jesus, but my stance remains "I don't know". What's so difficult about that to understand?

If this were a serious thread I would ask you to avoid insults, and probably edit out charges of drug-induced mental derangement.

But I can't say that it is. I'm just waiting for the right moment to close it.

I would like to add for the record that the only "drug" I'm addicted to is watching these guys squabble with each other like old hens over something so trivial and pointless.

I just can't seem to get enough of it.
