They would probably have to shut down this forum since we wouldn't have anything to argue about Stuart Shepherd:Cheeky: |

Even if the bones were there and they were proved to be the bones of Jesus from Nazareth somehow, it would change nothing.
In case no one's been paying attention, little things like "facts" don't mean jack shit to cult members. Jesus could come back to life and say to each and every christian, "I am not a god, nor ever said I was a god and the words 'follow me' don't mean anything" and it would barely make a ripple. "Facts" and "evidence" and icky things like that are what God made "foolish," remember? You might as well hope that by putting a Mac laptop in front of a Dell desktop, eventually the desktop would become the Mac laptop. No doubt there would be a whole sect of believers who state that, just like dinosaur bones, God put Jesus' bones (or DNA, or whatever) in the ossuary to test our faith. |

No, God put Jesus' DNA in the ossuary so that we could clone him and bring him back to life, THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND COMING!!!

Actually if DNA were found in the tomb, there are tests which could be made.
Several years ago I read about some Jewish organization that was doing DNA tests on Jewish men. They were looking to create genetic profiles for priests and kings by comparing the alleged ancestry with the general population. They are looking forward to the rebuilding of the temple and the re-establishment of the Davidic line. If there work is accurate, perhaps the tomb DNA could be examined to see if it had the genetic markers known to belong to descendants of David. Stuart Shepherd |

However, if we could do it, and Joseph-from-the-tomb's DNA nmatched David's but Jesus-from-the-tomb's did not, we would be that bit closer to proving this was Jesus. If it turned out that Jesus-from-the-tomb was crucified, even better. |

no because saying that jesus existed has really never been in question ,there are many different sources that spoke of jesus .......what it would prove is that jesus is not this all mystical son of god,and that he was as many people say ,just another pimp for Christianity, definetly not the son of god ,so the divine christ side would seem to be ass out ,and it would give some credence to the christ as a myth side
