Human beings seem to be more just and compassionate than Biblical God. We regulate hunting and scientific expermentation. We legislate against especially cruel ways of killing animals for food. Some of us are even vegetarians. Of course we are not perfect. But at least we don't drown animals en masse in water when there is no need!

Also, you say God merely killed a "bunch of animals" (BTW, ever had a pet?) which he "created in the first place". Quite a few problems with that view:

-- Ethics (of all varity - from the ancient Greek to the post-modern) does not accept ownership as justification for sense-less killing.
-- Since it is the norm for God to kill off his creation at his whim (you have not come up with any reason so far), seems to me even those who accept the Lord as savior might meet with similar fate - at His whim. God does not need a reason!
-- It is ok to teach children killing and torturing animals is fine for God since he "created them in the first place." What a stellar example of Ehtics for budding minds, straight from God!
