I can't help it.

At any rate, I'm doing my best to remain calm, but if I hear "Atheists hate God" one more time, I'm going to go berserk and slaughter everyone in a ten-mile radius.

Far too often, this is the first refuge of the believer.

Ah, Christianity, the religion of humility ... where every practitioner vies with the others on being the humblest man on earth.

Because I can't see Magus anywhere.

Seriously, though, in real life, fundamentalists can preach with little to no argument from anyone. However, they should not expect such soapboxes here.

Of course; he who is humblest will be exalted the mostest, sayeth Jesus. It's a big contest. "Heavenly Idol" or some such. "You're a totally humble, submissive, worthless piece of crap. Congratulations! You've become one of the most highly exalted entries we've had so far!"

Those Biblical principles really crack me up...

Joyfilled The so called "quotes" by Jim Jones Jr. are in fact yours! :banghead: Did you not read them? You brought up examples of David Koresh, Jim Jones, ect.. in one of your other post saying they didn't know the Truth like you. You Think you're different from them when in fact you are not!
I agree with you that they were Ef-ed in the head, but I fail [with my incapacity to understand basic logic]to see a difference in what you David Koresh or Jim Jones preach.
Personally I hope to never acheive what you Joyfilled considers the capacity to understand basic logic
In order to acheive your capacity I would probably have to go down that same broken road you choose in life.. No Thanks!
I think it's beautiful that you aren't causing harm to yourself with all the crap you used to ingest.
All the self-indulgence and abuse you did to your mind all these years was horrid, not only for you but your parental figures. The pain you caused them must've been unbearable. Godd girl! or Guy!

Looking at the bright side: any reasonable, questioning christian who takes the time to read joyfilled's comments, and then the subsequent refutation thereof, may at least begin to see that reason is superior to supposed revelation. Hopefully.
That is exactly what happened to me about 4 years ago. The "secular" responses just started making so much more SENSE to me. It does happen.

Joyfilled: Whatever good in me comes from God, not me. I can take pride in nothing.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel you are of no value. I tend to believe that we make our own value, so if a person feels worthless, then they will be worthless. We have to acknowledge our own value in order to be happy.

Perhaps these feelings of worthlessness that you describe are the reason why your words seem so antagonistic.

Joyfilled: To whom do you give credit for your goodness, jafosei?
Thank you for acknowledging that I possess 'goodness'. It's a significant step to acknowledge that goodness and belief in a deity are two separate things.

As with BigBlue2, I give a lot of credit to my loving parents and family, and to my friends. I was raised well. I also credit the choices I have made, since we make and re-make our morality every day. My upbringing gave me a solid foundation, but it's up to me to remain a moral and ethical person.

When I at last learned that I am a good, kind, thoughtful, generous, person I rebelled against all your God stands for.

I rebelled against his lies and his bloody dictates. I rebelled against his hatred of his own creation. I rebelled against his villainy, his tyranny, his despotism and his theology of murder, bloodshed and death. I am proud to stand for myself and for all people against the vile, despicable monster you worship.

Join us Joyfilled. Your God has lost. Your Jesus will not return. We stand for the future. The past can not save you. Be Human. Be proud of your humanity.
