Oh, the Sri Lanka Orientation film I mentioned has been completed, and it explains exactly what the numbers are...

Sneak preview, featuring Sawyer.

It looks like a fucking live-action Myst game.

I can never catch Lost while it's on during the season (that's when I put the kids to bed... too chaotic), so I'm currently doing what I did this time last year with S1: I have spent the last four nights watching four episodes a night. Two more nights to go, and not only am I disgusted with myself for being so lame, but I'm exhausted!

I'm going to try to watch S3 as it comes on, but it's doubtful.

I watch it by downloading the episodes using bittorrent, then I transfer them with a USB key to watch it with my Avel Linkplayer. It saves me having to watch the commercials. I still support the show by buying the DVDs after and related memorabilia like t-shirts and trading cards.

Wow, and here I thought I was the only Hurley fan.

I'm sick of that Jack guy and that Kate chick and that Sawyer fella playing 90210. I like the fat man and his dementia.

I really liked that episode where he had the imaginary friend, etc, and it showed Libby in the psych ward with him. Then she dies and we never find out if she was really there or what that was all about.

Go Hugo! Go Hurley! Go fat guy with dementia!

I think we eventually do find out. IIRC, "they" said that although the character was dead, she was going to show up in flashbacks and stuff.

I just finished watching S2 on DVD, just in time for the new one to start.

What was with Ana Lucia getting killed off so suddenly? Is it because she got arrested for drunk driving do they fired her? Because it seemed kind of irrelevant after her being written in as a major character. While it's interesting when writers kill people off from time to time, when they just do it for the sake of killing people off, it gets lame.

If they could just go and resolve the whole love triangle thing between Jack/Kate/Sawyer in the first five minutes of show one and then never bring it up again, that would be great. It's gotten a bit old. Move on with the relationship already. I like Charlie and would like to see more of him with a theme beyond struggling with drug addiction. Also, Rose and Bernard are cool and should get some extra screen time at the expsense of Eko, who hasn't lived up to his potential.

According to multiple interviews with the producers that I've heard and read, they had planned to kill her off right from the start. Michelle Rodriguez had expressed interest in being on the show, but she only wanted to do one season. They set up a story arc for her which they thought was pretty cool. They intended her death to be a big surprise, so that it would have some impact.

Then Rodriguez got arrested for drunk driving, and the producers worried that her death was going to seem like punishment for stupid behaviour. But they went ahead with it anyway.

One source on the story.
