A teacher is ARROGANT if (s)he ASSUMES this title. Shankar is called Shankaracharya by the Hindus, and this suffix is attached to many other teachers and philosophers, not only of religion but even secular sceinces too.

Anyone who calls him(herslf/ an Acharya have to be charaltans in Hindun eyes, even if they claim that Krishna was CRUCIFIED. Even an indirect claim falls in that category.

Given that clarification about an acharya...
Some prefer to call her by her real name, because they think she is undeserving of the title, "Acharya." But I think of religious titles as badges of shame and ridicule, so I have no trouble with it. For Acharya S, it sort of exposes her cult ambitions.

Acharya is not a religious title. It is an honorific suffixed to the name, but NEVER by the person. It is by others only. An acharya is seen to be an acharya. Gandhi is usually called Mahatma, but he never called himself that. Humility is the hallmark of a acharya, not intolerance of differing views. Anyone calling himself an acharya is, by default, NOT an acharya.

Anyone posing as an acharya is invited to debate whether Krishna was crucified.

The irony is rich indeed
