This poll is a follow-up to the Guys: What do women find attractive? thread.

So now, it is up to the ladies (and gay readers) to have the last word.

Do we, wordly IIDB men, really know what women want?

Or do we conform to the male stereotype, and we are essentially clueless?

(The fact that 30% voted "I have no idea" in the previous poll points to the second option, but there is always hope...)

Since there were so many comments in the previous thread, I will start with a clarification. Nobody is suggesting that looking only into physical characteristics of the opposite sex is a good idea for a relationship. The poll question is not "who would you marry?", not even "who would you fall in love with?", but only "who would you consider hot, based only on physical attributes?". It is intended as a not-too-serious, harmless probe into what makes our hormones tickle. Nothing more.

So please go ahead, vote, and post your comments. Now women are homosexual men and welcomed to give their opinions on the poll and on the comments in the previous thread. Were we accurate, insightful, debatable, sexist, retarded or just plain wrong?

(As a side note, only 16 people voted "woman or gay" in the previous thread, so it does not look like we will get a very statistically significant sample... Oh, well, what can we do.)

(Another last minute thought... It looks like lesbians do not vote for now. Sorry. Bisexual people... well, you decide what's best.)

I am a bisexual woman, married to a man. In case that is relevant somehow.

I voted buttocks, because I do like a nice healthy butt on a guy. What I like to look at does vary from guy to guy though. Whatever is remarkable about a particular man's look will tend to draw my eye. My ideal for purely ogling purposes would be a guy with a nicely proportioned body (tall, long legs, broad shoulders,) with a pleasing face, nice ass in tight jeans, and long hair. Good-looking hippy-biker dudes are sexy to look at.

But for actual getting-to-know-you purposes, I am much more attracted to nerdy-type guys. There has to be a certain level of attractiveness of course, but what really gets me hot is a guy who is very smart and genuinely nice, with a filthy mind and a great sense of humor. My husband is all that, and I think he is the sexiest man on earth. He does have a cute face, nice proportions and a great ass too, though.

So where's the poll for lesbians? You've had one for hetero men, one for hetero women & "gays" <which is generally considered as a more offensive term. If you want to use gay, you should use it adjectivally, don't ask me why>. But none for bisexual and lesbian women?

Oh, man. I knew I was going to offend somebody.

I was thinking of four polls:

1. What is attractive in guys? Guys vote. This one we just made.
2. What is attractive in guys? Women and homosexual men vote. This is the current poll.

Up to now lesbians have not voted because, by definition, they are not interested in guys.

If people are not already bored, we can do another two that would complete the series:

3. What is attractive in women? Women vote.
4. What is attractive in women? Guys and homosexual women (lesbians, finally) vote.

For bisexual people, it started to be too complicated for me to follow all possible combinations. So I suggest that they vote like they feel like.

Is this more acceptable?

Offended? Moi? Heh, don't flatter yourself. What would be more acceptable to me as my moderator self would be one thread where people actually discuss all the subjects at once. And exchange opinions rather than voting in a thread and making one throwaway comment with no discourse.

Of course, that's just me though.

I'll admit I'm size-ist, hair-ist, and clothes-ist, preferring looking at men in nice suits, less hairy, and on the skinny side (not physically toned or buff, but thin-ish), but give me a pretty face with nerdly glasses to see me swoon!!!

Depends on what's most noticeable about a particular guy. If I have to pick one thing though, I tend to like broad shoulders.

I voted face, because that's the first physical thing I look at. My second feature is not listed though, it's the hands. Think of the less than immortal Anne Murray song: "Slow Hands".
