Sorry if I sound like a broken record but I must again stress the fact that no God has ever posed a choice to me. All I have ever heard is people claiming that God told them to tell me to make a choice.

From my perspective, being unable to distinguish between these two things is the height of gullibility.

I know people have this age of accountability nonsense but I have a theory on stages of Heaven and Hell and a biblical quote to back it up.
2nd Corinthians, Chapter 2 Verse 12
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven.
Third Heaven? So there are multiple levels of Heaven? Why not assume that there are multiple layers of Hell, too? Fairly easy, logical assumption to make.
I guess if you are a really lousy Christian you get sent to ghetto Heaven. Low rent housing, everyone is kind of a dick, you have to work for your living, etc.
Kind of like an eternity of being on earth with nobody but the biggest asshole Christians for company. Are were sure that isn't the Third Hell?

Sounds like you're relatively new to xtian apologetics. If you're interested in countering arguments such as your gf presented (which, as apologetics go, it appears hers were very "old", basic, simple, and easily countered), then just write them down and do searches on infidels.org or these forums.

Honestly from what I see here, from what you're saying she presented to you... she has never thought about these issues critically. She is regurgitating what her Sunday school teacher told her.

She will make an excellent wife. Just remind her of the biblical request of her being obedient to the husband.

she said she didnt like the idea of anyone going to hell. but in the end it was their choice if god layed out the rules and gave us the holy spirit to guide us to the truth and the rules are that he wants to be worshiped and have a relationship with us. I think she thinks that the whole thing seems fair. maybe it is given the circumstances. Im not even sure how to think about terms such as fair anymore when you are dealing with issues such as these. terms like fair almost go out the window. Why is there the big game, where the holy spirit has to guide people, and we have to spread gods word. ITs like god doesnt want to do everything in his omnipotence to keep us out of hell. its like in the end he isnt that worried about people in hell...

:devil1:

First Level of Hell - Limbo

Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.

Right, that's my point.. it seems "fair" to her because she hasn't thought about these issues critically.

You can easily answer your own questions on this very site and with your own ability to critically think about the answers to your questions. Using logic, reason, history and empirical evidence, you will find a path that will hopefully lead to a more empathetic and happier view of life.
