Maybe the fallacy is to believe the rather common literary device of Gods fathering through humans, Demigods they are called, as being absolutey true.

Another logical fallacy

The gospel according to Mark does not contain a birth narrative or claim Jesus was the Child of a Ghost therefore Jesus had a human father.

A rather consistent phenomenon.

What is your definition of 'fallacy'?

I find this extremely odd.

My thread is completely valid.

Why are you doing this?

HJers come here and present logical fallacies and now you don't want me to address the issue. I can't understand what is going on, here.

Please get familiar with "False Dichotomy"

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_dilemma

Quote:
....A false dilemma (also called false dichotomy, the either-or fallacy, fallacy of false choice, black-and-white thinking or the fallacy of exhaustive hypotheses) is a type of logical fallacy that involves a situation in which only two alternatives are considered, when in fact there are additional options (sometimes shades of grey between the extremes).

For example, "It wasn't medicine that cured Ms. X, so it must have been a miracle.".......
For example, It a false dichotomy or a logical fallacy for HJers to say that Jesus wasn't fathered by the Holy Ghost therefore his father was a man when they have not shown that the Jesus story is history.

The HJ theory itself is a false dichotomy, a false dilemma or a logical fallacy.

If people are presenting logical fallacies here, it would be clearer to respond to them on the threads where they have done so, or at least to link to the posts in question, because not doing so makes it harder for people to know what you're talking about.

Just for example, who said 'Jesus wasn't fathered by the Holy Ghost, therefore his father was a man'?

If I'd known that's what you were talking about, I would have recognised the fallacy myself immediately, but I didn't know that was what you were talking about because you never made the point clear.

In the HJ theory it is proposed that Jesus was a man who was baptized by John and was crucified under Pilate.

But, what is the basis of these claims? What source of antiquity claimed an ordinary man with a human father lived in Nazareth, was baptized by John and was crucified under Pilate.

There is NO source of antiquity which have identified any ordinary man with a human father who lived in Nazareth that was baptized by John and was crucified by Pilate.

But, in the NT there is a story of Jesus described as the Child of a Ghost, the Word that was God, the Creator of heaven and earth who was baptized by John and was crucified under Pilate.

In order for an HJer to assert Jesus was an ordinary man he used a false dichotomy since he employed no corroborative evidence from antiquity for his assertion.

The HJer does NOT believe that Jesus was born of the Holy Ghost but believes Jesus was a man and merely assert Jesus was a man because Jesus could not have been born of the Holy Ghost which is a logical fallacy.

Every assertion about Jesus as an ordinary man by an HJer is a logical fallacy since they used whatever they believe about Jesus as the very same data to make their conclusions.

HJers do not Believe the Jesus story in its entirety but believe Jesus was baptized therefore according to HJers Jesus was baptized.

HJers do not Believe the Jesus story in its entirety but believe Jesus lived in NAZARETH therefore Jesus lived in Nazareth.

HJers do not Believe the Jesus story in its entirety but believe Jesus was crucified under Pilate therefore Jesus was crucified under Pilate.

HJers do not Believe the Jesus story in its entirety but believe Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher therefore Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher.

Without any external credible historical sources for HJ then HJers can only resort to logical fallacies to assemble their historical Jesus.

In effect, HJers are putting forward a FALSE DICHOTOMY as a theory: Jesus was not the Child of a Ghost, the Word that was God and the Creator therefore Jesus was an ordinary man.
