I'll check that out. I've got his "New Evidence" out because he got cited in another thread on the Documentary Hypothesis, so I'll look when I get home this evening.

I read somewhere that Josh McDowell grew up in a Christian home and his atheist period was limited to high school and early college. He doesn't seem to have ever been much of a skeptic. A lot of Christians go through a nonreligious period after graduating high school and get involved in church again after they get a little older.

That tracks pretty well with what I've seen. The "skeptic" label seems like something he adopted to give him street cred with his target audience.
