I would love for there to be a rapture. religion is dead, and I personally inherit half the family.

its the tribulation that they are slavering about that makes me nervous.

My first and essentially last encounter with Raptureready consisted of a serious of arguments abuot a thread which was meant to address anticatholicism in the forum. The OP posed a quite reasonable question about the historical relationship between Catholicism and Christianity as a whole, but he prefaced it by meantioning that there were a lot ofpeople on the board who were opposed to the Catholic church. They immdiately seized on that, treated it as an acusation (which it wasn't), and demanded evidence. During the course of the discussion a friend of min mentioned that she had recently taken her daughter to her first communion. Another poster said something to the effect that she was initiating her daughter on the road to Hell. A page or so later the thread was closed on the grounds that the original poster could not substantiate the claim that there was any anticatholicism on the site.

There is a level of malice and stupidity which I cannt pretend to respect.

I've seen dialogs on other forums, people just log on RR and pose as ignorant Christians for the fun of it. Maybe something like an interactive petting zoo.

But looking in from outside the cage... How do we tell the "real" Rapture Ready Christians from the posers? It is probably a mistake to make too many assumptions, 'Brother Love Hallelujah Joe' might not even be religious, much less a Christian.

The site seems more like a warning against extremist or unjustified belief of any kind, not just Christianity.

Yes, I've seen this situation where the person wanted so bad to believe a Christian would actually say certain "odd" things. When it was obvious to me that it was just a poser.

I was thinking about this question yesterday after posting my story (Gee, you've really got a story- so did Hans Christian Anderson) about the problems my DH and I are having (Shit I didn't realise you were a Christian bisexual, sorry) Even though we are still struggling through some difficult things (My tights are killing me and my DH is wearing my new ones lovingly tied by myself around that scrawney neck of his), God answered a huge prayer for me in my marriage. I remember the day after my hubby told me he was gay and leaving me and the kids (Fantastic, please go on) we all went to the mall for shopping and lunch. I remember sitting at the table waiting while he got the kids' food and his just praying my heart out that God would "fix" (De-gayify) him and make him want to stay with me (Even though I'm the ugliest and most stupid bisexual Christian ever). I knew in my heart that it was impossible (since when was your brain in your chest?), that he would be leaving us - we just didn't seem compatible, you know? (No I don't, why fucking bother) But I prayed anyway, telling God I knew he wanted us together, that he hates divorce (Why? Did his wife leave him and now he can't stand to see others experience what he went through?), and that I knew he could do anything. I begged God for my hubby to stay. (So I got out the chains and handcuffs and strapped him to the bed)
God is so amazing! Within a week, DH (Between cries for mercy and the chillun screaming that they hadn't seen daddy all week) had decided to stay. He had spent time with his Christian counselor (Who sat at the bottom of the bed); he had read and learned about what God expected of him (more bullshit), and he decided to stay. What an answer to prayer! And so FAST too! (It's amazing what a little torture can do)

So I was wondering, what is the most miraculous answer God has given you in answer to your prayers?
