And also of military generals and commanders who dabble in the publishing business for the "sake of posterity". The term "historisation of myth" and the term "historisation of fiction" need to be differentiated since the former may be politically neutral whereas the latter may be politically fraudulent misrepresentation of the actual historical truth.

Excellent find Clivedurdle! There is indeed some interesting discussion on those pages.
Neil mentioned the Ayodhya mosque as a case where myth is regarded as history, with serious consequences. Perhaps the Tomb of the Patriarchs is another instance? Gerard Stafleu |
