Today's reading is from "Through the Looking Glass:"

"It seems a shame," the Walrus said,
"To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!"
The Carpenter said nothing but
"The butter's spread too thick!"

"I weep for you," the Walrus said:
"I deeply sympathize."
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

BTW, happy belated thanks for the suggested reading material, Rigs.

Does anybody know how the thread views counting system works? Is there a "hidden" viewing platform for staff or something like that?

Just got home from my school's employee appreciation dinner. They surprised me by recognizing me for a couple of things at the ceremony that I didn't even know any administrators had noticed. It's my first year there and I'm pretty invisible, so it was kind of a shock that anyone was paying attention. They also included my sister (who is having heart surgery next week) in the meal prayer...I didn't know they knew. I mean, there are over 200 employees.

I love my school.

Did you read his postings the last couple of days?

He was obviously feeling cynical and disengaged. What led to this & whether he will recover, I have no idea, but I think he was burned out.

I didn't see the original, but I can guess . . . .

Geo's a difficult guy to predict. I have had some great interactions with him and some really crappy interactions with him--both before and while he was on Staff.

Not that I know of.

I know the view counts are often inaccurate. I suspect the database takes a long time to update those.
