I thought the best part of the dvd was the special features section, which included extended interviews with the people in the film and also the feature-length commentary with Earl Doherty. Make sure to watch those, rather than just the film himself.

I actually liked the soundtrack because I immediately recognized he had lifted it all from The_Wired_CD (mostly remixes of David Byrne's contribution). I guess he didn't have the budget to actually pay for music. But I can see how it would grate on some nerves.

Oh yes, I cringed when he confronted his childhood religious school principle. It reminded me of Michael Moore's ambush interview with Charlton Heston. Just leave the poor guy alone.

That said, I really did enjoy the imagery of the Jesus "episodes" from that silent movie. Putting them all up in squares was a very good illustration. Though I wish he would have expounded more on how Paul "never referred to Jesus as a literal person." More scholarship (not hidden away in the bonus features) and less anger would have been nice.
