I thought the best part of the dvd was the special features section, which included extended interviews with the people in the film and also the feature-length commentary with Earl Doherty. Make sure to watch those, rather than just the film himself.

I actually liked the soundtrack because I immediately recognized he had lifted it all from

That said, I really did enjoy the imagery of the Jesus "episodes" from that silent movie. Putting them all up in squares was a very good illustration. Though I wish he would have expounded more on how Paul "never referred to Jesus as a literal person." More scholarship (not hidden away in the bonus features) and less anger would have been nice. |
