Human creation, to my way of thinking, indicates a lack of omnipotence on god's part. Sort of unintelligent design.
You miss my point. If god is bound to do intelligent stuff, she doesn't have free will.

And a god without free will is as much use as a wank in a trance.

Probably because the ancient Jews did not believe in the omnipotence of their god and that this was a later development.

I seem to remember that was the basis of the plot of the movie "Dogma". Alan Rickman played the Voice of God angel, while Alanis Morrissette played God.

You've got the bible on your side.

God said he/she couldn't show his/her face to Moses because it was altogether too awesome. That's why she/he showed her/his hind parts to the old man instead.

Bingo.

And what do you suppose happened at Psalm 8:5?

You made him a little lower than the gods angels and crowned him with glory and honor.

God didn’t create angels. The guys who created God did.

They needed to disguise El’s pantheon.

God created angels for the same reason why he created us - Love.

I fail to see the connection. Incidentally, did he create the serpent and Satan for the same reason? How about earthquakes and small pox?
