Αθεϊσμός (ΑΘΕΪΣΜΟΣ in capital) is the correct one.
Αθεότης, meaning atheist, is a syntax no longer in use. It sounds awkward in modern Greek. The modern word for atheist is άθεος. A side note. The word atheist in Greek up to quite recently meant one who opposes god, one who is disrespectful to god. The modern meaning of the word - one who does not believe in the existence of gods - was most probably brought back and incorporated into the Greek word from the English language. |
