I doesn't make you wrong, it just makes your argument weak. I asked you how you equated the quote you provided with the claim you made. Here is the quote again...'sixty years of of an unjust ruler is preferrable to one day of civil disorder' It doesn't say what you wanted it to, and now you are upset cos I pointed that out. Why would I want to impress you or Earl or Spin or Toto? What the fuck would be the point of impressing you or Spin or Toto or Earl? Do you come here to impress people? |

Jews and Romans
Paul blames the Jews for killing Jesus (1 Thess 2:14–15), so why is there any problem with him exalting Roman authority?
Paul was also a human being; so even if he did hold contradictory beliefs, does it really matter? Jon |

Jon, have you actually looked into this issue? Just typing "thessalonians interpolation" in google is a good start.

Interpolation or not, I still see little reason to worry that Paul treated the authorities in Jerusalem different from the authorities in Rome.
Oh, also: Paul had a Masters degree in Marketing from the U of Tarsus; summa cum laude. A lot of his theology is just marketing, and he was good at it. Jon |

Is it not probable that Paul was merely being pragmatic when he spoke of submission to the authorities? If Roman agents were to come into possession of the letter it would give them reason to destroy both Paul and his new religion without restriction.
