Ethnographies about ancient cultures
The past is a foreign land, and we shall never visit it, but we have in hand some remains and writings from that land with which to piece together an idea of its people.
Where can I find (non-christographic...just plain old) surveys of the habits, mindset, and general way of life for peoples in antiquity of the ANE and Mediterranean? |

I've no doubt that you are better informed about ancient written sources than I, so I'll confine myself to suggesting that you search out archaeological papers, which should give information about trade, diet, ecology, technology etc.

From the past, you need to assemble all the known
Authors of Antiquity, and categories will be mandatory. (Non-christographic and non non-christographic) From the present, you need to assembled all the top ancient historians, and what they have to say. As a starting point IMO, you cant go past: AM on AM.
