Incorrect. America is a secular nation founded on the principle of recognizing the will of its citizens, not the will of your god.

I'm wondering how WWJD knows that "god doesn't believe in atheists". Personal correspondence? Voice mail? Sky writing?

Default Mrs. Bowers, is that you?

Well, maybe the Bodhisattva Guanyin doesn't believe in Christians, either.

And they'll know we are Christians by our love. I think that Rapture Ready is sickening, but you don't see me showing up there just to bash.

Wouldn't we have to believe in His existence in order to do that?

Even if that were true -- and a cursory review of American history will show you that it isn't -- does that mean that you have no particular beef against unbelievers from other countries?

Um, if God doesn't believe in atheists, then that seriously calls into question his omniscience. Since all of us infidels are pretty much obvious evidence of the exitence of atheists, I would think an omniscient being who thinks clearly would believe we are here.

And, if this were a Christian nation, the Bill of Rights would look a lot different. Many basic Christian tenants violate the Bill of Rights. Heck, at least half of the Ten Commandments would be unconstitutional if enacted as law.

But, if Jesus is as swell of a guy as people say, I don't think he'd be that upset about me making an honest mistake in judgement.

*shrug*

I thought America was also the land of free speech -- correct me if I am mistaken. Whether or not you personally like this website is quite irrelevant -- most people disassociate from that which they find objectionable.

Well, for my part, I must say that I am persuaded by WWJD's extremely well-reasoned and well-spelled critique.

So long, all you about-to-be-burned heathens!

Wow, hopefully you didn't have to use Google to find out. I must say that you are the first Christian that I have asked that question who hasn't either ignored the question or said "the Bible".

I was actually a bit impressed until I read your first post again and saw all of the venom and hatred. You will find that telling us how vile we are is not exactly the best show of Christian love. Read Galatians 5 beginning at verse 19... and then read your opening post in this topic. Note that it says that "that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God".

Denounce, deny, hate, etc...any theist who uses these words to describe an atheist doesn't remotely comprehend what atheism is.

Before you begin to throw stones, perhaps you might try to learn a little about that which you're so appalled about. It may give you some understanding of those who don't see your religion the way you do...or it may allow you to see your religion in a new light.

Before you sat down to write this post, did you take the advice of your own nick and ask yourself, "What would Jared do?"

Obviously not.
