Only when those particular beliefs lead to faith-based initiatives like 9-11, inquisitions, crusades, jihad, working for armageddon, religious injunctions made law in the US, and the like do I object. Should Mitt Romney be denied his right to participate as a candidate because he believes in the efficacy of magic underwear, that posthumous marriage saves the dead, that some guy in upstate New York was given golden tablets (that just like the Qu'ran of Mohammed) he couldn't read until the magic glasses we given him? And, of course, these magic tablets, just like the original Ten Commandments and the silk scroll (that is what Qu'ran means: reading of the scroll) were taken back after the "translator" said what they "really" said that only he could describe? I think so, but our Constitution requires no religious test for office. Even if the religion they subscribe to is absurd on its face. |

Jenny I,m a catholic and the video tolds that catholics are evils.Although I am confused wherther I will Protest to the catholics doctrine or not. Please do not judge catholics not all of us are bad,we believe in Holy God our creator,we use to pray to saints also to offer our prayers to the Lord.I read these also in the Revelation. I have an own interpretation of the revelation, I believe only athiest and non christian except Jews before are those evil. The first beast was the Communism lead by famous athiests, the second beast that came quickly is the Democracy where USA belongs lead to the democracy brought immorality. And the USA is city told by the revelation as Babylon (Revelation 18),English now is the language we use,we confounded before in babel and now we gathered with only one language. I dont have time to edit my work. The Holy God will enlighten us all.Amen.... Revelation. 11 Let those who do wrong continue to do wrong; let those who are vile continue to be vile; let those who do right continue to do right; and let those who are holy continue to be holy. |

1) Biblical prophecy is proof that the writers of later books shoehorned what they were writing to match prior prophets' words. Apologists do the exact same thing; they shoehorn what is objective reality to fit. A very uncomfortable fit at that.
2) Any prophecy kills free will. If God knows what I will do then I have no choices whatever. 3) Revelation -- Prophecy -- is notoriously inaccurate. |

It can be difficult for a newcomer to search through the forums. Perhaps we need an expanded prophecy faq to answer such questions. |

Jenny, I appreciate your sincerety but examining scholarly publications/information outside of your churches recommended reading list will countermand pretty much every point you've made. I know because I used to try to make those same points.
For an excellent example of how a fictional story can be brilliantly constructed around real history and a pre-existing mythology please read Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Many of the same claims about the gospels could be made to support the "truth" of that book as well, yet it's a work of complete fiction. You can go see the sites, you can see the sculptures, you can follow the real-world trail and line of reasonong that leads up to a complete, artificialy constructed conclusion. That said, how do you know your brand of faith is the right one? After all, there are hundreds and hundreds of different takes on the Christian faith, and they can all scripturally "prove" that theirs is the right one. |

For some reason the vid posted is the wrong one, you're not getting the point because of that, anws here's the right one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS1WlP2a4_s
Btw someone said they dont have time to sit through a vid, it's only 6 min You'll see the acurateness of the prophecies there in a short and concise manner. Bible prophecy isn't wishful thinking. See for yourself! |

I laugh at any site that posits Pascal's Wager seriously:
http://www.proofdirectory.com/PascalsWager.htm And this nonsense would only impress someone who already believed: http://www.proofdirectory.com/Prophe...robability.htm |
