Hmm. Yeah!! My ex-wife is into her. I think I've gotten some of her quotes from her via email. My ex is an avid A Course In Miracles, student. I think that's where she ran across her.

I wish sometimes I was immorral enough to peddle this bollocks and make a fortune!

Where on a list do people put snake oil persons, above or below drug barons, human traders, gun runners and mafiosi?

Unfortunately, she lives in my general vicinity in Michigan. I think she is commonly referred to as a high priestess of the new age, or some such BS. The last I heard of her was an editorial she supplied to the Detroit Free Press urging people to pray to keep the bird flu away, which I thought was pretty damn funny.

She has reprinted it on her blog here. Rereading it this time, I find it is not so much funny, but mindless, mindnumbing blather. Yechh.

Marianne Williamson is a bit like a homeopath who tells someone to stop using leeches to alleviate a fever. IOW, she does offer some good advice to traditional Christians (namely, that they don't need to feel guilty because of their purported "sinfulness"), but she adds a layer of mysticism to an approach that is presented as being rational.

To the extent that she encourages people to question religious dogma, Williamson does a service to humanity. But, her "new improved" dogma perpetuates a belief in an ineffable (but still personal) entity.

Seems that maybe you already are, but you're not really interested in making a fortune.
