Ahhh yes... the good old shape-shifting reptilian aliens from the center of the earth theory. Frankly, we have enough problems on our plate without diving into Icke's sci-fi nightmare.

Heck, Ron Reagan is Ronald Reagan's SON (not removed) and they could hardly have more different politics.

1st cousins, or just cousins, share a pair of grandparents.
2nd cousins share a pair of great-grandparents.
3rd cousins share a pair of great-great-grandparents.
Etc.

1st cousins, once removed, means that one person's parent is the other person's 1st cousin.
1st cousins, twice removed, means that one person's grandparent is the other person's 1st cousin.
Etc.

In other words, Bush and Kerry being 9th cousins, twice removed, means that they share a pair of ancestors which are 10 generations past for one of them and 12 generations past for the other.

In other words, it is an utterly meaningless thing to say that any two people are 9th cousins.

Not meaningless, just pointless. I'd guess that most people don't know any of their 3rd cousins, let alone 9th.

That was true before the explanation provided by Tau.

I have documented genealogy for one branch back 11 generations and that is pre-American Revolution for my lineage. They all had numerous kids....sometimes 10 or more. I am sure I am 9th cousins twice removed with half the original Southern Colonies.

Does the tin foil hat set have the documentation to prove this Charlemagne assertion at all?

Third cousins? I do! They are wonderful Acadians who put me up for free and fed me more food than I could eat...

And then there are some freaks....

But then I do genealogy as a hobby. It's handy to have a large family to feed you.

I also me somebody who might be a eight or ninth cousin since our last common ancestor (That we know of was born in 1604) but then there was that genetic bottleneck.... He's a RC preist. He's got special God powers, like the ability to turn grapes into a special intoxicating liquid!

 Supposidly related to most Cajuns... and Charlemange... and I wear a tin foil beenie everyday.

I thought is was pretty absurd when I reached the royal lines in my history. I mean your putting a lot of faith that person X really slept with person Y, besides I wanted to figure out the point where my ancestor hard count (2, parent, 4 grandparents, 8 ggranparents...etc.) actually broke over the estimated world human population for that time. Then I could prove that my ancestors slept with sasquatch!

I'll shut up now.
