ming bai (both rising tones) so my wife says.

Holy shit holy shit. Learn something new every day. Sounds wrong though, like saying carafe as cara-fay.

I have to remind myself to pronounce "probably". It always comes out "prolly".

I remember having this feeling when I first heard the correct pronunciation of epitome. I'd assumed it was eppy-tome.

I always pronounce it tah-kih-turn, since that is how it is pronounced in Latin. Actually, I end up pronouncing a lot of words like they would be in Latin when not thinking about it.

anthropomorphise

unless i really put the emphasis on the "thropo" part it comes out "anthro fuh more pies" or something like that.

which i guess would be defined as the act of ascribing human traits to confections or something.

also, no idea how to pronounce "ignominy"

is it IG nuh mini

or ig NOM ini

or IG NO mini

or what?

i dunno.

Epitome. Actually, for me, it was the other way around. I knew epitome before I knew how it was pronounced. Likewise with facetious.
