Thumbs up Alabama Bills Die

The antievolution bill in Alabama has died. It would have easily pass if it had gotten a vote.

Bills relating to the pledge of allegiance, the ten commandments, and banning gay marrage have also died.

From the article:

Quote:
The gay marriages legislation was one of several bills aimed at improving the state's moral compass that died Monday when the House spent the final day dealing mostly with the General Fund budget and taxes to balance the spending plan.

Other bills that did not come up for a vote on the last night included a proposed amendment to allow the posting of the Ten Commandments in public buildings, a bill to require schools to begin the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance, a bill to allow posting of "In God We Trust" on classroom walls, and a bill to allow teachers to tell students about alternative theories to evolution.
So refusing to allow teachers to tell students about alternative theories to evolution {insert usual disclaimer about total lack of the above, of course} is having an adverse effect on the state's moral compass? Good grief. :banghead:

You know... It actually might have made things more interesting if it had gotten a pass. No doubt the alternative theories is code for ID, and I fail to see how an "unnamed, unidentifiable designer" could have any impact on "improving the state's moral compass".

I bet the ID higherups are just as glad that it did not pass.

Who were these Bills, both from Alabama? I feel it inappropriate to celebrate their deaths though.
