This is a part I never got, if Yahweh is the one and only, what's he so jealous of? What's he competing with? If the rest are just figments of delusion, which he would likely know, being very knowledgeable and having created the whole shebang (earth, check ... ... angels, check ... ... tree of knowledge of good and evil, check ... ... other gods, check ... stars, check ... ... hey wait a second, I don't need any other gods, lets uncheck that, okay where was I ... ... firmament, check, waters, check) who are these other dudes he's got his shorts so wound up over?

I don’t know, but He makes it clear that He punishes people for other people’s “crimes".

Maybe Mr. Manata thought Bible God’s justice was just, so he got the idea of punishing others from Him.
